White 1: Domaine Michel Goubard et ls Bourgogne Blanc $11/G $27.99/B
Michel Goubard’s family has grown wine in the village of Saint-Désert and Mont-Avril
since the 17th century, and his sons, Pierre-François and Vincent, proudly continue the
tradition of quality at this venerated Côte Chalonnaise domaine situated on Mont-Avril.
Mont-Avril is the named Lieu Dits for the estate, originally planted in the early 1900s. Restored and replanted in 1990.
Tasting Notes: Beautiful fresh orchard fruits, a tension to cut the richness creating a soft, delicate wine
White 2: Taboadella Villae Unoaked Dao White $10/G $27.99/B
The exuberance and transparency of the Encruzado grape variety, combined with the
delicate oral aromas of Bical and the austerity of Cercial, made it possible “to design”
a Taboadella Villae white wine that has a unique prole and vibrant acidity – a beautiful testimony to the original terroir!
Red 1: Monteabellon 14 Month Ribera Del Duero $14/G $29.99/
Intense cherry colour, garnet rim. Intense aroma of candied fruit, sweet spices perfectly integrated with quality wood, making it elegant. Very tasty in the mouth, powerful and fruity, with ripe tannins.
Red 2: Sage Rat Barbera $11/G $27.99/B
A balanced mix of bright fruit and spice lead this acid driven, light-bodied red.
Sourced from the Yakima Valley
Red 3: Micro Wines Cinsault $13/G $29.99/B
A label created by Legend Imports’ cofounder Jonathan Ross, this featherlight Cinsault
is sourced from 50–70 year old biodynamically farmed vines in the sandy Vine Vale
subregion of Barossa. The pale color of freshly pressed strawberry juice, the wine’s
aromas walk a similarly delicate line of red-berry and watermelon fruit with an
undertow of orals and spice. The palate is equally ethereal. Raw, pure fruit is
supported by skinsy, tensile tannins. This juicy little number has a layer of complexity tucked up its sleeve; It’s ultrasmashable, as the Aussies say.
